Pratts Bottom Village Fete May 2017

Once again we had a very enjoyable afternoon performing at the Pratts Bottom Village Fete. The rain held off & things weren’t as windy as last year!

Here are a few photos of us between sets. As always, we’re available for bookings so contact us if you’d like us to perform at your event.

Pratts Bottom Village Fete May 2016

This year saw fine weather for our annual Pratts Bottom Village Fete gig so Chris arranged for us to be outside under a gazebo, instead of indoors in the Village Hall.

The wind proved an entertaining challenge: whilst we had remembered to bring pegs to ensure our songsheets stayed in place, Bob’s music stand decided to swing round like the sail of a boat &, at times, Colin had to hold down his pages with his foot – an interesting new playing technique!

We had an excellent day. Andrew has caught some of our setting up, clearing down and the obligatory post gig drinks in the local hostelry in this set of photos: Read the rest of this entry »

Pratts Bottom Village Fete May 2013 – Part 3

Here is the second extract from our performance at the fete. This time you’ll find us on ukes, banjos & bass, with Rufus in fine voice, playing another of our favourites – Joe ‘King’ Oliver’s 1926 composition, Doctor Jazz:

Pratts Bottom Village Fete May 2013 – Part 2

Here is a short extract from the first set at our recent performance.

Amongst our more lively numbers – such as I Wanna Be Like You, Ain’t No Pleasing You, Dedicated Follower Of FashionDoctor Jazz, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, What Made Milwaukee Famous & Coney Island Washboard – one of our most popular numbers is this gentle rendition of the lovely Va Pensiero, from Verdi’s Nabucco:

Pratts Bottom Village Fete May 2013

Today saw another appearance for PLUC’s performing group at the Pratts Bottom Village Fete, on the border of Greater London & Kent. Chris based us in the Village Hall instead of the originally planned outside stage on the Green, which proved wise, as there were several downpours during the afternoon.

We played two sets & hope that the community raised plenty of funds for their charity work. Here are a selection of photos from our session. Thanks to Jo for taking them & the videos from the day:
