Most of the songs we play are arranged by PLUC members – we perform a wide repertoire of tunes to suit all tastes. Here are some handy songbook resources we’ve found in our travels round the web that are useful to dip into:

Enjoyed myself immensely last night! I’ve sent you ‘Never Forget You’ and ‘Moonglow’ under separate cover. Paul

I absolutely love your blog and find many of your post’s to be just
what I’m looking for. Would you offer guest writers to write
content for you? I wouldn’t mind producing a post or elaborating
on some of the subjects you write regarding here. Again, awesome web site!

Thanks for your kind comments. This is a ukulele site for our uke club members, so we write our own posts & link to interesting & useful uke items. But thanks for the thought. Good luck with your guitar site.

hi, i play with the wuzzalele ukists,( thats wirksworth in derbyshire.) my speciality is producing songs to the largest size print on one side of a4. big black and nasty really.its just that i can’t see them well enough, as derbyshire hopes to get gaslight soon. actually its an age thing. i have a dropbox, where these horrors are contained so if they are of any use they can readily obtained.

After I originally left a comment I appear to have clicked
the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and now whenever a comment is added I
receive 4 emails with the same comment. There has to be a means you are able to remove me from that service?
    Many thanks!

      Hi Mollie,

I tried replying privately to your WordPress email address but that failed, so I’m having to respond in the blog.

I can’t do anything to access who has subscribed to comments – I can only see the emails of who have subscribed to follow the blog (& can’t update
      them anyway).

However, you can control your own WordPress settings:

      – Go into the WordPress Reader & click on the right hand side “Edit Blogs I Follow” (eg you might be able to skip straight to https://wordpress.com/following/edit/ if you’re logged on).

      – You can then delete the extra ones you don’t need. Four of any post seems way too much!

      – If you’ve subscribed under different WordPress accounts, you’ll need to logon & unsubscribe on those.

      – There is more info in this article, which ought to help you if you’ve subscribed in some different ways:
      http://en.support.wordpress.com/following/

I hope that sorts things out for you.

      Best regards.

      Jeanette

Thanks Ed. I like your scratching DJ on the homepage (though think she should have a uke under her arm)! Jeanette

How can I find the ukulele chords for the song “Why do Fools Fall in Love?”

Hi Aslaness, Well, this page is just a list of sites with songbooks / song resources, not an actual searchable database. Two ways of searching are:
      1) Use this list to pick a few randomly to see if the song you want is there & you like the arrangement (I’ve just tried that, looking at just a couple of the more comprehensive sites, & can see you’ll find that title on Doctor Uke, Betty Lou & Ultimate Guitar, for example – & probably several more on here, too, as it’s a pretty well-known number).
      2) All you need to do is Google why do fools fall in love ukulele chords & you will be presented with tons of options to trawl through & try out.
[Tip: you may find it easier to play / sing in certain keys – some sites let you change key (also known as transpose) automatically; you can find sites that will do it if you paste in the arrangement or learn to do that yourself.]
      Have fun playing it! Jeanette

I am so blessed to find a site so I can learn to play and entertain my baby grandsons 3500thousands miles away! I love them so much I bought a ukulele without knowing shit about music and finally found a bunch of cool fantastic music lovers that want to share their skills and love of music for free without the annoying ads and creepy adjoining accounts, if you are linked to a non profit support group I would love to donate some $ from Australia, thank you and keep the music joy spreading the world as you have helped me do and connect with my grandsons !, xx

      Hi Susie,
Thanks for your very kind comments. I’m glad you are finding the site useful in these difficult times and you’re able to use music to help bring your family together. We’re just a local community uke group but if you really wish to make any donation, do go to any of the song sites you’ve enjoyed to see if they have a ‘tip jar’ as some of those musicians are currently unable to make their regular livings through teaching students or playing gigs, so I’m sure they’d appreciate by support.

We have friends in uke groups over in Australia, some of whom have visited us when they’ve been in London, including several from the Maida Vale Uke Group (MUG).

      Stay safe and well! Jeanette
