Happy 2016!

03 Jan

Happy New Year to all PLUC members & readers of our blog. This year’s PLUC 2016 Calendar gives a selection of alternative (moveable) chord shapes.

As usual, WordPress have produced stats for 2015 to show our most popular articles & from where we receive our visitors. You can also compare the 2014 & 2013 reports.

If you’ve received a ukulele for Christmas or just bought one, do read our New Uke For Xmas & look round our site as there are plenty of useful beginners’ tips; links to free resources & songbooks. As always, new members are very welcome to attend our group, whatever their level of playing. We’re back at the Lewis Club on Tue 5 Jan 2016.

    Hi Lewishamers

I;m a retired ( 72) kiwi in NZ playing about 4 years & self taught. I play okay but have rather large fingers so struggle to pick anything , a work in progress! I looked at your circle of 5ths wheel and thought’ great idea’ and have glued the printouts between clear cover sheets for A4 pages and cut and assembled them – they’re brilliant.
Belong to a group they plays in resthomes but they are a fairly static bunch and haven’t grown in any sense in 4 years! So, with i or 2 other people l pay most fridays at a local resthome and have a great time , whether there is 15 residents or 30 . Strangely if we chuck in ‘a whole lot shaking going on’ or something up tempo like that, up beat, we always have a couple of them dancing.

My regrets are not doing this sooner as I find most Ukers are a sociable friendly forgiving lot that can and do laugh alot including at themselves.

    Blessings for 2016
