Kevin’s has dug out an excellent three numbers for us to try in April. We’ll be playing them as a group on Tue 31 March & Tue 7 April, as people seem to need a little longer than a week to practice & it worked well this month playing everything on two weeks.
As before, the versions of the songs we’ll be using are in the PLUC Box for members (not necessarily the ones linked to here), so make sure you head over & pick them up. We’ll then vote upon the one that works the best so we can rehearse it more fully over the coming months.
Song One – Girl From Ipanema – a hit single by Astrud Gilberto and Stan Getz & thought to be the second most covered pop song in history, after Yesterday by The Beatles. Here’s Ukucafe’s arrangement:
Song Two – By The Light Of The Silvery Moon – a 1909 number first recorded by Billy Murray & Haydn Quartet and covered by many, such as Fats Waller, Doris Day & Little Richard. Uke version by reyalpEleluku:
Song Three – Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds – originally by a track on The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper. Tsutomu Yoshikawa here:
