Christmas Strumalong 2

The final club night of the year was our annual Christmas Strumalong at the Jolly Farmers pub, attended by Andrew, Brendan, Chris, Colin, Daniel, James, Jeanette, Mary, Ron, Rufus & Simon.

We played a selection of our current songllist, raced through Sing-A-Long-A-PLUC & finished with a number of seasonal tunes from popular sources such as Doctor Uke’s Christmas Medleys 1 & 2; Ukuke’s Christmas Ukulele Songbook & some PLUC Xmas arrangements.

And we left with our traditional Hawaiian farewell – this time, the festive Mele Kalikimaka.

Our annual Christmas Strumalong will be from 8pm, Tues 18 December 2012 in the Jolly Farmers pub, just outside Lewisham Hospital.

Contact Simon for links to the Xmas songbooks we’ll be using (he may also bring a few spare copies on the night).

This will be the last club night of the year – the following Tuesdays are Christmas Day & New Year’s Day. We will reconvene back at the Lewis Club on Tues 8 January 2013.

As always, all players are welcome to join us, whatever their level of experience. Just bring yourself & your uke!

Thanks to Ballard C Boyd for the use of his 2009 free Xmas ukulele cover image. See his website for more free albums.

Bonza Club Night!

At this week’s club night we had a surprise visit from some Antipodean ukers – two players each from The Blue Mountains Ukulele Group and SSCUM – St George and Sutherland Community of Ukulele Musicians who were over in the UK separately on holiday visiting friends, family & ukulele builders. They’d been looking to find a local group with whom to enjoy an evening’s strumming & we were delighted for them to join us for the evening!
